
An Ebonyi State Elder Statesman, A former Commissioner and a consultant to the State Government Engr. Ben Okah has declared the readiness of the Government of Ebonyi State led by Engr. Dave Umahi to revitalize the Agricultural sector in the state.
He made this disclosure when he visited the over 100 hectares of land belonging to the state government in Ezzamgbo on the instructions of the state Governor.
In an interactive session with the employees of the state government who have the over sight of the land, Mr. Lawrence, a farmer lamented the neo- absence of the presence of the state government on the land, he informed the Elder Statesman that the only bridge that makes the road accessible to tractors and other heavy equipments had collapsed and all letters, entreaties made to the state government to reconstruct the road failed.
He also stated that vandals invaded the building housing the palm tree nursery bed and vandalised some equipments.
On his part Engr. Ben Okah assured the farmers of the determination of the Engr. Dave Umahi led Government to REVITALISE Agriculture in the state.
He stated that the over 100 hectares of land when properly utilised by the state government has the capacity to feed the entire State.
He assured them that he will submit a comprehensive report to his Excellency and that in no distant time, tangible work will commence there.
Engr. Ben Okah visited the Dam, fish pond and other structures that are under-utilised and assured of the state government’s determination to put the land into use thereby creating employment for the teeming populace and achieve the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal one, aimed at eradicating poverty and hunger among Member states.
