I am Owolabi Oyenike by name, an undergraduate of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology Ogbomoso study Food Science and Engineering.
I grew up with my parents and I belong to a family of 7 in which I’m the 2nd to the last born, my intimacy with my dad which granted me easy access to operate sewing machine and sew clothes on my own with minimal or no supervision. After which, I went to vicwalex fashion school for further training to enhance my skill in the field of fashion designing as I really love and have great passion for the profession .
I own an enterprise now that focuses on fashion. I use my skills and idea to sew cloths of different styles for both male and female to promote different cultures in Nigeria and Africa at large. My strong passion for promoting african culture through fashion designing and human dressing presentation made me go in to the field of fashion designing and set up an enterprise on fashion. My business in fashion designing is over 2 years old. My enterprise is duly registered under Cooperate Affairs Commission under the Nigerian Government with the name Bhion Concepts.
I got the burning desire for creating beautiful things and an eye for fashion from my father, let me say it is hereditary ‘lol’ he was a Fashion designer before he passed away, and I got the entrepreneur spirit from my mum who happens to be a trader. With my dad I remember designing and creating outfits from scratch on sewing machine and blue cutting table he left behind.
What keeps me going in this line is the change I’m creating in my community through fashion designing and the joy that fills the heart of my clients followed by their compliment.
The use of an extensive palette of bright colors for textiles and elaborate graphic patterns makes the Bhion truly one of a kind while other designers are in a perpetual rat race following the already forecasted colors and trends for the season.
I have also experimented with shoe making and hat crafting.
