I was born into the family of the Sanni’s as the first child of four children, my early years were spent in lagos state where I attended my primary and secondary schools before relocating to Ogun state where I reside now.
I am a fashion designer by profession, mnnnnnn yea a fashion designer because i do more than tailoring clothes, if i were to describe my job I’ll say i measure to sew well tailored clothes through pattern drafting and sketches when necessary.
Charis GINEI Clothings is a strictly female fashion brand if i must say. It grew out of an unexplainable likeness for style, the love for female wears all started in few years ago, i had a friend when we relocated to Ogun state that used to sew (Adedoyin) she was my only friend then so i spent most of my leisure with her and her sewing machine, from that point i started learning a few things from her.
On getting to LAUTECH the passion for sewing had grown so i wanted to gain more knowledge, luckily for me i got to know about an empowerment program coming up (Sandarayah Empowerment Program) so i registered and kickstarted building a career in designing. After the program i joined the A’maka stitches(now RACY ROBES) to gain more knowledge and then i made my official first dress. My boss then had passion for sewing and her strength made me want to go far,she was my mentor. Not long after LAUTECH went on strike and to make adequate use of the time i joined the TISBOD FASHION institute to learn more and brush up.
All this together brought up the decision to start my own brand.
Presently the challenges has been time, because really its not quite an easy task to combine fashion and schooling but God has been faithful and my driving force has been passion and encouragement from family and friends. I hope for Charis GINEI Clothings at the top, because there are a lot of designers/tailors but only a few are recognized so i am really working and learning hard to achieve this dream.
