A smile is a very beautiful thing. It’s a universal symbol of happiness and a force of nature. Let’s try something. Give yourself a smile and observe what happens or better still, force yourself to smile and you will see how many wounds it will heal in your heart. No matter how you’re feeling or what’s going on in your life, close your eyes and smile. Observe the feeling of warmth that wells up in your belly as you do so. Observe the shift in your energy as you turn that frown upside down. If you’re still not convinced, go in front of a mirror and notice how you look when you’re smiling.

It embodies our ability to create and our ability to express the infinite love that is within us. So many of us go through our days dragging our feet, lamenting our struggles, waiting for this or that to happen to cheer us up and we forget that all the while, we have this incredible tool at our disposal to raise our spirits. When we smile, something lights up inside us; we connect to our Source and we are actually able to alter our mood. What’s even more amazing is that we can share this gift with others. The only thing more powerful than one person smiling is two people smiling at each other. We all know that wonderful feeling we get when we look into someone’s eyes, and with the simple exchange of a smile, a world of meaning is communicated. It can be an expression of love, of joy or of laughter. Smiling is contagious, as is laughter, and the only thing they cost us is whatever suffering we are holding on to.

Evidence to this is a famous quote by an unknown author; “Smiling is contagious, you catch it like the flu. When someone smiled at me, I started smiling too. I passed around the corner, and someone saw my grin. When he smiled I realised, I’d passed it onto him, I thought about that smile, then I realised it’s worth. A single smile, just like mine, could travel round the earth.”The most powerful aspect of a smile is that a smile itself is the most powerful human quality.

Smiling is such a key ingredient for establishing healthy and genuine friendships. When someone is smiling at you it indicates that they like you. When someone likes you what do you think of them? Yep, normally you’re thinking “wow, I like this person!” Smiling also offers encouragement to the person that you are talking to. Think about it, if someone is smiling at you while you are talking to them, you feel as though they are totally into what you are saying, encouraging you to keep going!

Smiling is crucial when it comes to first impressions. Smiling when you first meet someone will indicate to the other person that you are genuinely happy to see them and that you are a positive person. These impressions will be lasting on the other person so definitely not one to miss. It helps to better and fasten relationship

One of my goals every day is to smile, whether at myself or at someone else, even a complete stranger and these has made build an empire of people that I would lighten up their mood. Smiling is what grounds me; it stabilizes and makes me feel more in control every day. It reminds me that, despite the fast pace of life, I must always remember to be happy and appreciate the little things in life. Smiling helps me overcome times of fear, anxiety and nervousness. Smiling helps me express to others my proudest moments. Smiling helps me convey love for others. Sometimes, when no words can be spoken, a smile is all that is needed to fill the air.

I believe it is the ultimate connection between all humankind. No matter how big or small, if a smile is genuine it creates an ineffable feeling in the atmosphere. I believe in the power of a smile to make the saddest of circumstances a little better. I believe in the power of a smile to enrich the happiest experiences in life. I believe in the power of a smile to transcend all barriers between individuals and to create special moments in life.

We should all smile more often, after all its free and the best thing one can wear.So today, smile and smile often. Smile at yourself, smile at a loved one and smile at a stranger. And whatever that thing is that you love to do, do it and share it with someone. Write a poem for a loved one, sing your heart out for the birds, pick some flowers for your mom, make a painting of your dad. And do it all with a smile, knowing that you are spreading love, joy and inspiration. Never stop smiling ☺☺
